This year our Quadkids event will be a joint meeting running alongside a Special Olympics Suffolk Athletics Competition and will form part of the first Suffolk Community Games, part of the Festival of Suffolk celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The start /finish times and the order of events have yet to be finalised and these will be agreed later with the Special Olympics organisers and those involved from Bury. It will be a whole day event rather than the traditional afternoon approach.

There will be no entry fee. All athletes will receive a special commemorative certificate and those placing in the top three individual places in each category will be awarded medals.

The closing date for entries is Tuesday 14th June and no entries will be accepted on the day. We would also ask clubs to give an indication of the likely number of entries per category by the end of May as this will be a factor in working out the timetable.

This is an individual event and there will need to be team managers/helpers present. We will require officials and helpers to run the meeting who may or may not be qualified. We will also need one or two people to familiarise themselves with the computer based points system, set up and record and collate the results on the day.

Under 11s – school years 4, 5 and 6 and at least 8 years old on day of competition.

Events – 75m sprint, 600m run, vortex howler throw, standing long jump.

Under 13s – school years 7 and 8 and Under 15s – school years 9 and 10.

Events – 100m sprint, 800m run, vortex howler throw, long jump.

As with Sportshall, eligibility requires a Suffolk connection – one or more of place of birth, place of residence, school or club affiliation.

Entries should be submitted on the Quadkids Entry Form by Tuesday 14th June via your club rep or to Geoff Morgan whose contact details are:
